Legolas of Mirkwood is a Wood Elf (by culture if not by blood), merry and carefree in the face of a growing Shadow as only the youth of that race can be. Which isn't to say he's unaware of the events around him, or that he's not a fierce warrior in battle. His keen eyesight and archery is known amongst the Elves, and he is an amiable companion.

Legolas is tall (~6'10) and has long hair, which he wears carefully braided behind his ears so that it does not get caught when he uses his bow. He dresses in shades of green and brown, all sturdy cloth and soft leather. He often has a bow and quiver on his back, with a sheathe for his long hunting knife at his belt. He is fair of face and form, and does not look like Orlando Bloom or Jesse Spencer. His spirit also burns brighter than that of humans. As for the rest, to quote Tolkien:

'He was tall as a young tree, lithe, immensely strong, able swiftly to draw a great war-bow and shoot down a Nazgûl, endowed with the tremendous vitality of Elvish bodies, so hard and resistant to hurt that he went only in light shoes over rock or through snow, the most tireless of all the Fellowship.'

Note: When interested (and especially with men), Legolas tends to forget that breaking eye contact is something humans do more frequently than Elves. You can assume he's holding eye contact too long (though he blinks at normal intervals), unless the tag mentions him looking away. Ping me if you're ever uncertain.

Canon note: Legolas is very slightly AU from all the other Lord of the Rings characters in bar. This is not something he realizes, and isn't a comment on other people's playing or anything -- I just prefer being able to make things up about cultural stuff without having to check in :).
